This email is to follow-up on the
first email and give more results and a
brief description of events that took
place this past Saturday Night in
Chesapeake Va.
There were more Champions that were not
posted on last email Monday. Some of
these names were posted incorrectly:
Also Champion by Walk Over
Stephanie Stafford from
Greubel's Kickboxing camp in
GA.
The spelling on these two were posted
incorrect: Umaer Haq
and Jonathon Schweinefuss.
Speaking of these two, they are with
camp Mikido (Mike
Hess) Team from Northern Va.
This was there (68th) Championship Belt
Won by that camp through out the years.
This is a GREAT accomplishment to a Team
that is considered one of the best in
the Country. Congratulations to
Team Mikido!!!
Greubel's Camp from GA.
is also considered one of the best in
the Country and have also Won many
Belts. Along with other Top Teams such
as Team Plant
out of KY and Team
Finn out of TN. There
were many top teams through out the
Country at this years 2007 U.S.WKKO
Championships.. There are many Top
Teams like Team Frazier
and Team Walters and
Smith and
Manuel, we could go on and on,
but what makes a GREAT Team is not how
many Belts they win but how hard they
train consistently time after time.
These camps go all over the Country and
prove there selves that They are the
best Teams in the Country consistently
Winning Championships. That comes from
good coaching and Hard work ethics by
the Fighters.
That night proved to be a first for
Kickboxing with Bobby Wall
retiring his Gloves and asking his
beautiful girlfriend up to the stage to
ask her hand in marriage. What a night
it was with the re-match of
Steve Mann vs John Koy
with Steve once again coming out on
top. Then you had the underdog
Wescott Lynch
from Team Walters
winning on all judges score cards
against a TUFF Dean Lavin
from Team Manuel.
The excitement was all night and the
noise was off the scale.
With juniors and adults filling the
night time card nobody would have
thought that the re-match between
Markus Laquihon vs
Tyler Chavous would
have once again gone toe to toe like
there first match (1) year ago. In the
end Tyler came out victorious. Then you
had the re-match between Rafael
Bayona vs Josh
Tufte, with two big super heavy
weights rocking the ring for the North
American Championship and in the end
Josh was the winner.
The daytime fights were excellent as
well with many juniors mixing it up
along with some adult fights. The most
exciting daytime fight had to be
Jessica Goldyn of Team
Smith going against
Qiana Poleon of Team
Linxx in a junior match-up.
Jessica stopped Qiana with the third
knockdown of the fight with a jab and
the fight was stopped. In another
Daytime fight, in International
rules(which is leg kicks and above)
Jonathan
Braxton and John
Garrett mixed it up with
Braxton winning the Belt. Along with
another International division with
Team Gibson out of
Western part of Va. having Mr. Gibson
fight himself in a large division with
the winner being Chris Hendry
from Team Greubel out
of GA.
Back to the Night Time fights where
Team Plant with there
Top Team having Caleb Plant
put on a display of talent against a
Fine fighter in Joeseph Murphy
out of Team Frazier,
with Plant winning in the end. One of
the best fights of the night was the
first where Summer Satterfield
from Team Allen out of
Tampa FL took on Lauren Martin
an experienced fighter from Team Frazier
out of SC. Satterfield has a good
career ahead of her if she continues to
fight the way she did Saturday night
with her win over Martin.
Mike Decker from
Team Maldonato out of
N.J. was defending his U.S.Championship
by taking on a game opponent in
Justin Gruber from Team
Walters. In the end Mike
remained the U.S.Champion.
The highlighted fight of the night was
David (D-Man) Cynar
from Team Walters
taking on Norman Green
from Team Smith. David
showed his old self with a Jump spin
Backkick in the 2nd round to the ribs of
Norman to stop the fight with a TKO.
D-Man has not decided if he will
continue fighting next year but will let
the WKKO know before the end of the
year. He is the Current North American
Champion in a Division which is stacked
with Talent. There are many fighters
wanting a piece of the action with David
like Josh Spry and
Michael Lawrence, both
of those fighters ranked in the top 10.
Josh is higher ranked now that Michael
lost on this night in another great
fight to Umaer Haq out
of Team Mikido.
Michael Lawrence out of
Team Dabney may drop in
rankings but Umaer continues to go up in
the ra nkings. He stepped up in weight
to take on Michael in that division and
Win the 141lbs -147lbs weight class.
There is so much to talk about when
speaking about this years 2007
U.S.Championships but many are asking
when are the next fights. There will be
no more WKKO events this year but in
2007 there are many planned events.
Starting in Feb. in
Christiansburg Va. with
Perry Gibson being the
Promoter. This event is not yet
confirmed but is in the works of being
confirmed. There is always the
EastCoast Classic
in April which is in its 7th year, and
then the Va. States
along with the Southeast Classic.
many others are considering promoting
events and are on the table to be
confirmed. Stay tuned to your emails and
for more info call 757-491-1733.
Clark Walters and
Craig Smith want to
think all that supported this years
event and hope to see you all soon in
2008. God Bless
